Nice to meet you, I'm Richard A. Miller, otherwise known as Storybook Papa!

I've been a lifelong storyteller, speaker, and entrepreneur who loves bringing heart, humor, and imagination to the page. After years of speaking and writing about leadership, ethics, and investing, I felt called to create stories for children—books that spark curiosity, build confidence, and invite young readers to dream big.

I’m the author of The Sneaky Germ, Swimming to Catalina, and Sloths Are as Cool as Unicorns. Each one is a playful, meaningful adventure designed to help kids explore the world—and their place in it—with joy and wonder.

I live in Laguna Beach with my wife of over 30 years. We met while touring as professional tennis players and raised two amazing daughters who’ve followed in our athletic footsteps. I now have two amazing grandsons who love to hear stories from Papa. When I’m not writing, you’ll find me on the tennis court, walking by the ocean, or soaking up inspiration from everyday life.
